Bloom Where You’re Planted: Finding Growth in the Season You’re In

Let’s talk about this season you’re in.

Not the one you wish you were in.
Not the one you used to be in.
This one.

The real-life, right-now, slightly chaotic, coffee-needs-reheating-again kind of season.

Because here’s the truth no one says out loud enough:

Growth doesn’t always look like starting over. Sometimes, it looks like staying put… and blooming anyway.

You’re Not Behind. You’re Planted.

Spring has a funny way of reminding us that growth takes time.

Nothing blooms overnight.
Nothing rushes the process.
And nothing apologizes for growing at its own pace.

But we do, don’t we? We look around and think:

“I should be further along.”
“I thought I’d be past this by now.”
“Why does everything still feel so hard?”

What if you’re not behind? What if you’re planted? Right where you are isn’t random. It’s not wasted. It’s not forgotten.

God doesn’t misplace people.

Growth Doesn’t Always Look Impressive

Let’s be honest for a second.

Growth in your life might not look like a promotion, a big move, or a fresh start. Sometimes it looks like:

  • Getting out of bed when you didn’t feel like it

  • Choosing patience when your patience is already gone

  • Making dinner… again

  • Showing up for your kids when you feel empty

That doesn’t look impressive on Instagram. But it matters. Actually… It’s everything. Because real growth? It usually happens in the quiet, unseen places.

Just like roots.

God Is Working in the “Right Now”

It’s easy to think God is waiting for you to get to the next chapter.

“When things settle down…”
“When I have more time…”
“When life looks different…”

But Scripture tells a different story. Isaiah 61:3 says we are called

“oaks of righteousness, a planting of the Lord for the display of His splendor.”

Not later. Now. Even in the middle of the mess. Even in the season you didn’t choose. God isn’t waiting for your life to look better to start working. He’s already working. Right here.

4 Ways to Bloom Where You’re Planted

Let’s make this practical because we’re not about fluff—we’re about forward movement.

1. Stop Fighting the Season

You don’t have to love every part of your current season. But fighting it will drain you. Instead, ask:

“What can grow here?”

That one shift changes everything.

2. Water What Matters Most

Not everything needs your energy. Remember this: some things are “rubber balls,” and some are “glass.”

Focus on what actually matters:

  • Your relationship with God

  • Your kids

  • Your health

  • Your peace

Let the rest be… less perfect.

3. Speak Growth Over Your Life

The way you talk to yourself matters more than you think.

Instead of:
“I’m barely holding it together.”

Try:
“I’m growing, even if it’s slow.”

Because you are.

4. Stay Connected to Community

Nothing grows in isolation. And you weren’t meant to do this alone. At Shepherd’s Village, we say it all the time because it’s true: You don’t have to do this alone.

Whether it’s a class, a support group, or just one honest conversation—growth happens faster when you’re surrounded by people who get it.

Join us in person for our Confidence and Life Development Classes—where faith, practical tools, and community come together to help you thrive in parenting, relationships, finances, and personal growth.

Maybe This Is Your Blooming Season

Not the loud, obvious kind. But the steady, deep, lasting kind.

The kind where:

  • Your confidence is growing

  • Your faith is strengthening

  • Your kids are watching you keep going

Even when it’s hard. Especially when it’s hard. That kind of growth? That’s powerful.
